Painting with Plotters is back!
Thanks for waiting!
It has been a while since my last newsletter. I hope everything is going great for you!
I am happy to share that my Painting with Plotters course is finally back in production.
Since the release of my last video, 1.1 Machines, I have struggled to continue the production of this course. Despite much effort earlier this year, I had to acknowledge that I needed a break. In the past few months, I have been focusing on recovering my creative energy and learning new things.
This urgently needed break has been refreshing. I am feeling recharged and finally ready to come back to this passion project of mine. Thanks so much for waiting so patiently. I will share more about this hiatus in the video.
Today, I am releasing two videos. Video 1.2 is a video about paper. I use watercolor paper for most of my works so far. In this video, I cover various aspects to consider when purchasing paper for plotters. I also share my process and tools for preparing the paper.
The next video, Video 1.3, covers paint, paint containers, brushes, and a selection of studio tools you may need for the plotter painting process.
During the production of these videos, I reviewed many earlier pictures and footages of my plotters. My setup went through many iterations. While each iteration might not be dramatically different, and most updates are far from groundbreaking, these mini steps are what make this journey memorable for me. I am so happy that by producing this course, I get to share these memories with you. Thanks for all of the support you have given me.
With all three videos finished, we are very close to wrapping up Module 1: Machines, Materials, and Tools. You can find everything about this module on the module website. The very last missing piece is a bonus video that discusses creating 3D models, allowing you to export customized plotter foot, paper stretcher, and paint trays for 3D printing. This video will likely be online by next week. After that, we will finally move on to the software part of this course. So, get your machines, materials, and tools ready!
Happy Plotting!
Best,
Licia
